Heavy metal oxide glass
We are developing glasses with high optical transmission in visible and mid-infrared spectral regions based on germinate and bismuthate glasses. Figure 1 and 2 show the infrared transmissions of infrared germanate and bismuthate glasses, respectively. The former glass is being developed as a dome window used in mid-IR region. The later can be used as infrared fibers and lenses in infrared region from 1 to 8 microns.
