Infrared Chalcogenide Glass
![]()
Chalcogenide glasses are glasses formed by mixing one or more chalcogen elements (S, Se and Te) with one or more other elements such as As, Ge, Sb, Pb, Bi and Ga, etc. The glasses have high transparency in spectral regions from near IR to long-wave IR, high refractive index (2.2 ~ 3.5), and low thermo-optic coefficient dn/dT as well as good chemical durability. The glasses can be used in infrared sensors and infrared imaging system.
